ARTIST BIO
Pam’s been making jewelry for about eight years; she started off making jewelry for her family and friends and fell in love with the beads.  She’s always loved jewelry and decided to try her hand at making it.  She especially loves working with stone, because of the colors and patterns in them and lampwork beads made by local artists.   She used to take her son Andrew to rock shops because of her love for stones.  She has taken classes in silversmithing, lost wax casting, lapidary, wire wrapping, Viking knit, PMC (precious metal clay) and taught herself Kumihimo (a Japanese eight strand weaved cord).   Pam does about fifteen to twenty juried art shows a year and has her jewelry in six galleries.

Pam has lived in Leelanau County all her life and graduated from Glen Lake High School.

Her parents are Shirley and Glenn Meteer, and she has two sisters and two brothers, all living in Michigan.  Pam is married to Jerome Peplinski and they have a son Andrew, who is in Peoria, Illinois and works at Caterpillar as an electrical and mechanical engineer.

Pam worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company (Ameritech, SBC or AT&T) for thirty two and a half years and had various jobs, such as an Operator, Maintenance Clerk, Clerk to Manager, Communication Technician and Telecommunications Specialist.   Pam retired the end of 2004, to help take care of her Mom and Mother in law.

Pam is a board member of Leelanau County Zonta Club and also a board member of the Artcenter Traverse City.
